From both French and Swiss stations, and on board TGV Lyria, there are special areas for disabled persons or persons with reduced mobility, as well as dedicated fares.
Available services
In the stations and on board TGV Lyria, a pictogram indicates the facilities offered to people with reduced mobility. On board TGV Lyria, in carriages 1 or 11, one seat in 1st class is specially reserved for wheelchair users. If this space is not available and the person has the capacity to transfer to a passenger seat, a normal seat can be reserved. The chair must be folded and stowed to comply with safety regulations and not interfere with travel. The toilets are also adapted and accessible to people with disabilities. A chair called “transfer chair” is available on board TGV Lyria. It allows you to move around to go to the toilets if they are not accessible independently. To use this chair, simply make a request to the ticket inspector.
Special prices
People with reduced mobility travelling in wheelchairs benefit from the single disabled fare of €38 on all international TGV Lyria services and will automatically be placed in BUSINESS 1ERE and their companions will benefit from the same fare.
For any other situation of disability (physical, mental, intellectual, sensory, permanent, temporary disability, whose interaction with various obstacles may prevent its full and effective use of transport on an equal basis with other passengers), only the accompanying person will benefit from a specific fare: 38€ in STANDARD 1ERE and 12€ in STANDARD.
To benefit from this fare, the disabled traveller must present proof (disability card, medical certificate, disability card with blindness or green star) mentioning the need to be accompanied.
If two disabled persons travel together, it is excluded that each of them can correlatively have the status of companion of the other disabled person.
Companion dogs for the blind travel free of charge and without a ticket with TGV Lyria.
